One year on from launch, Heidelberg Assistant wins US Digital Edge 50 Award

One year ago, Heidelberg customers entered a new era in digital communication with the launch of the Heidelberg Assistant. The Heidelberg Assistant brings transparency to processes and transactions with Heidelberg, and enables customers to ensure the efficient operation of their print shop based on the data it provides. For example, it gives customers a complete overview of the service and maintenance status of their machines as well as detailed information as to how to avoid malfunctions from the big data analytics performed on the machine data. In addition, the Heidelberg Assistant provides access to the biggest knowledge base in the industry and to data-based performance analyses that help customers to unlock the potential to boost their productivity.

Since its launch, more than 700 print shops and almost 1,200 active users worldwide have taken advantage of the digital offerings.  Different print shop employees access the Heidelberg Assistant using their personal Heidelberg ID. The pilot markets were Germany, Switzerland, the USA, and Canada. The rollout in Japan, Poland, and Austria also started recently.


Heidelberg Assistant positively received by customers

Jürgen Herr, Head of Printing at August Faller GmbH & Co. KG in Waldkirch, has the following to say about the Heidelberg Assistant: “The Heidelberg Assistant represents a major step into the digital world, enabling far better analyses of press performance than simple service reports. The option of logging into the Heidelberg Assistant to arrange service callouts will also without doubt improve our customer satisfaction.”

Jeff Taylor, Senior Vice President Manufacturing at Hemlock Printers Ltd. in Vancouver, sums it up: “This is exactly the data and information we need to manage production efficiently.”


Heidelberg Assistant wins the Digital Edge 50 Award 2019

To coincide with the first anniversary of its market launch, the Heidelberg Assistant has won the Digital Edge 50 2019 Award from the US-based International Data Group (IDG), a world-leading supplier of technology media and data/marketing services. With this award, the jury recognized the Heidelberg Assistant’s high degree of innovation and customer orientation in a field of strong competition.

The presentation ceremony for the US Digital Edge 50 Award 2019 took place on March 20, 2019 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
