Muddy Angel Run against breast cancer: the Heidis did it!
On June 29, fourteen female employees of the Heidelberg Digital Unit participated in the 2019 Muddy Angel Run against breast cancer in Mannheim, Germany.
The Muddy Angel Run is a platform for donations to support organizations that are committed to fighting breast cancer – whether through research or education. For every ticket and merchandise item sold, 1 Euro is donated directly to an organization against breast cancer – in Germany, the foundation Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.
The 5 kilometer obstacle run is open to women of all ages and fitness levels: good atmosphere, mud, and team spirit are its most important ingredients. Some women run for the fun of experiencing an unforgettable day with friends and colleagues; others as a sign of moral support for a friend or family member fighting against the disease.
For the HDU, this event was a fantastic opportunity to create awareness on the subject of breast cancer while empowering the team and having lots of fun.
Under the name “Heidis”, our muddy Angels fought like true heroines under the scalding sun and crossed the finish line in just under an hour. “I loved every moment of it”, says Jana Weigel, eCommerce IT Consultant at the HDU and Heidi team lead. “We’ll be back in 2020!”.
